Menopause

Te ruahinetanga

If you’re experiencing symptoms of menopause our nurses and doctors can provide advice and treatment.

Menopause is commonly experienced between the ages of 45-55 but can happen earlier.

At your appointment we will take a full history and then talk with you about the changes or issues you're experiencing. These might include hot flushes or heavy bleeding.

The nurse or doctor may discuss available treatments to control symptoms with you.

These treatment options may include:

  • Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT)
  • natural therapies.

Family Planning has clinics located throughout New Zealand. Use the clinic finder to find your nearest clinic.
